Very
cost effective. Large, tall plants up to about
18 feet tall get shipped lying down on a ‘platform’.
Depending on size of containers, we can get anywhere between
8-15 plants shipped this way for just under $200.
Shorter plants
are shipped standing up on pallets. Cost depends on height of
plants. Never less than $60 or more than $100 per pallet (all
costs inclusive to Young Bros. on Oahu). See below for plants
per pallet info.
Maui shipping
We are
now shipping open pallet (40 x 48) and platform (8 ft. x 20 ft.)
to Maui. This method is considerably less
expensive than the container version (please see below). We
have been shipping this way for over a year now with very good results.
However, you need to be aware that it is possible for plants
to arrive in less than perfect condition if the barge misses its
connections. While this rarely happens, it can, and the longer the
plants go without water, the worse they will look. It is highly unlikely
that any permanent damage would occur but we cannot be responsible
for Young Bros. scheduling. They are very good about moving live
plants and perishables quickly but they will not guarantee anything.
We ship tall plants lying down on a platform & covered with shade
cloth. Depending on the particular plants, we can generally fit between
10-15 large plants on a platform. Shipping cost of each platform
(not including the plants) is approximately $175 - $200 regardless
of how many plants are on it.
If plants are short, we can ship on a pallet. Please see info below on numbers
of plants per pallet. Shipping cost of each pallet (not including the plants)
is approximately $100 regardless of how many plants are on it.
Kauai,
Lanai and Molokai
We
ship refrigerated containers only. These cost approximately $600
delivered to your dock. Containers hold 8 pallets of plants or approximately
30-35 plants that are too large to stand up.
Pallets hold
40 one gallons, 16 4 gallons, or 6 10 gallons (only some species
of 10 gallons are short enough to stand up.) If you need a lot
of plants, this is a great way to get them.
We do not ship internationally or to the mainland at this time.
